Dear Terry,
I understand from Auntie Connie that you are shortly leaving to join the Air Force. I have no doubt that you will get on well& trust your training will be carried out at a good station. I wish you the very best of luck in your venture, & may your career be ‘plane’ sailing.
I have met Roy Archibald on several occasions recently & hope to see the passing out parade on Wednesday. He is glad of course that his O.C.T.U course is finished & he will be home on leave on Thursday. I have promised to have “one for the road” with him on Wednesday night. It is the pass out dance to-night & I expect the cadets will make “whoopee”. It has been

terribly cold here, but it is much milder now, although I went for a cycle ride yesterday & encountered plenty of ice & snow up in the hills.
We had great fun on Saturday playing cowboys, two of us fired about a thousand rounds of ‘.45’ pistol ammunition. .45 is being called in, so the Officer told us to dispose of our stock, which we did by firing with a revolver in each hand.
The soccer team are playing at Ludlow on Saturday, it is warship week there & the match should be a good one. I hope to go with them, it will be a change.
Trust you are all keeping fit.
Once more – All the best,
Uncle Reg.
