1945. A series of photographs showing the effects of the bombing campaign on German Cities & Towns. After the war ended it was the policy of Bomber Command to take members of the ground staff on tours of German targets, to show them what their dedicated work had helped to achieve. The flights were code named Cook’s Tours. Most Squadrons in Bomber Command took part in these exercises. The left hand photograph shows a general view of Essen. Very heavy damage is apparent.

1945. a photograph of Krupps Works Essen taken from a different angle & showing extensive damage to the plant.
