Tuesday 18th
Darling Johnnie,
Nothing whatever to report since yesterday. After writing to you the afternoon & evening were busy with gardening & ironing & this morning I have been cleaning & polishing the hall, & landing. Not very interesting I’m afraid tho exhausting. This afternoon I’ve got to go over to Little Chalfont again for SSAFA.
Mrs Sharpe gave birth to a son yesterday, about 9 lbs, Mr Shayse said & I gather both are doing well. I’m so glad about it. Frances & I are going over there on our way this afternoon. I had a letter

today from my friend Ann Reed who has both her small daughters down with whooping cough – what a handful! I’ve really been very lucky so far with Frances.
I hope to write to Bunty this evening to thank her for the kettle but shan’t mention any date for going over there.
Lots of love to you darling, I hope you enjoy your various concerts & outings.
