Yours parcel of socks arrived this morning, thanks ever so for the sweets. They're lovely & most welcome. I will wash the flashes today & return posthaste. Your letter of 5th came too, sorry the weather is so rotten. Its pouring here too. I've sent off your lighter by registered post to you today, Betty Hughes mended it & has enclose a few terse comments with it! Anyway I think it works now. You might try asking for Ronson flints whenever you're in a tobacconists, I believe they're rare.
May Simmonds & small son David came to tea yesterday & duly admired Frances who was good as ever. Will write at greater length this evening. Yours as ever, Ursula.
