It is no doubt a process of elimination, with smaller towns like Hamborn, Herne, Schwerte, Hage, Wesel, Munched-Gladbach, and smaller sized industrial and transport communication areas all having their appropriate places in the list of priority targets.
Since the beginning of this year the Ruhr has been attacked 37 times, 19 of these raids being since the night of April 26, when the present phase of intensification in the Battle of the Ruhr started with a 1,500 –ton onslaught on Duisburg.
Out of eight bomber raids since last Saturday six have been on the Ruhr, one of them being an American day attack.
Saturday, - Ruhr and Rhineland.
Sunday,- Friedrichshaven.
Monday, - Krefeld.
Tuesday,-Mulheim.
Wednesday,-Spezia.

To-day’s Italian communique admitted the loss of an Italian submarine.

ROME RADIO HITCH
The hitch on Rome radio, reported last night, was one one [sic] overseas transmitter only. Rome radio itself did not go off the air. The “meaningless figures” read out were by a station engineer for testing purposes.
