Dear Mr & Mrs Magett [sic]

I saw your sad memorium [sic] to Hedley I have so often wanted to write to you [deleted] but [/deleted] I hope you will forgive me. Maybe Mrs Biggs has mentioned how often I have enquired about news, & how you all were.
I only met Hedley for a fleeting moment as he called for Richard once to play tennis. I thought him such a fine fellow; & of course Richard & he had happy times together. Now we have lost our dear boy. I know your grief must be even more distressing.
Beleive [sic] me to have always sorrowed for you these many many months.

Yours very sincerely
Elizabeth Kirby
