Dear Mr Madgett,
You may remember me – Hedley’s pal at A.F.U. I’m writing to inquire if you’ve had any good news of him since last summer.
If he should be a war – prisoner, I’d very much like to write to him as we got on very well together & he was a nice chap all round.
I’ve nearly finished my turn as instructor & hope to go onto P.R.U. in the New Year.
The very best wishes to you and Mrs Madgett for the New Year.
Yours very sincerely,
[underlined] Bob [/underlined]
