Will you allow my wife & I to express our heartfelt sympathy with you in your agony of suspense.
I know your son & recognise him as one of the nicest & brightest lads of our staff. It seems only recently I was congratulating him on becoming a sergeant pilot, and I had no idea that he had been awarded the

D.F.M. or had taken a commission. Your son was contempory with my own son at Harker’s and the news that your boy was missing and mine had given his all in Sicily, arrived on the same day.
I pray the you may soon have news, good news, of your gallant boy.
