In this dark hour, I cannot think of very much to write about, except that you and Penny are as safe as can be expected.
I am ready now, for anything, feeling quite peaceful “inside”.
May God protect you and mine from all the terrors of war.
I also hope that you can find it in

your heart to think of me a bit more kindly.
If the worst should ever happen, tell my children that I was one of the first to go. Teach them how to live with all people, and you will sow the seeds of happiness in their hearts.
