Dear Mrs. Bain,
I am writing to let you know that a report has been received from the Royal Air Force Missing Research and Enquiry Service, concerning your husband, Sergeant A. Bain, stating that his remains have been removed to the British Military Cemetery at Berlin (Heerstrasse), where he now rests in Grave No. 13, Row K, Plot No. 4.
This reburial is in accordance with the policy agreed upon by His Majesty’s and the Commonwealth Governments, that our fallen should be transferred to specially selected military cemeteries where the graves will be maintained, for all time, by the Imperial War Graves Commission.
