Pangbourne
Many congratulations from your Aunts at Pangbourne. It is not that you have made us blasé about such matters that we have not written before.

As a matter of fact just after we heard (Daddy & I were then in town) there was a ring at the bell and your Father appeared

We had the excitement of telling him, but after that he amazed s by saying he had come to ask for 2 nights lodging. We thought the news had “turned his mind”. But he explained that he had come from a louse place. His usual hotel was full & they sent him to another where he was expected to sleep in a room with another man. We are not so bad as that.
