At the river mouth on the left is a defensive fortification. The left bank is a breakwater separating the river from mud flats. On the right a wide basin runs parallel to the river with an entrance inlet at the bottom. There is a further basin through a narrow entrance. The water is surrounded by buildings and docks. There are bomb explosions on land to the right and below the entrance inlet. There are a number of vessels moored on the right side of the river. A small vessel is underway entering the river at the bottom towards the right bank. Captioned 'DenHelder [sic] later by 21 Sqd'.
