My dear David
Many happy returns of your birthday on Sunday & the very best of luck to you in everything.
Joyce wrote to me after coming here & said she was feeling better. I do hope now with spring coming she will get really strong again quite quickly. Life is horrid just now for both of you & the fact that so many people are in the same position does not make it any easier for the individual. I was so glad to see you all over lunch on my birthday & I really had an extremely happy day. Now I shall look forward to seeing your daughter when she comes to
[page break]
visit her grandparents.
Much love & the best of everything possible
