RAF Blida was located in Algeria 28 miles (45 kms) south-west of Algiers.

RAF Blida was captured by the Allies in November 1942. Subsequently the station was used for fighter, bomber and special forces operations in North Africa, Mediterranean and southern France. Squadrons known to have used the station are 18, 114, 142, 150, 614 and 624. Bomber aircraft used include Blenheims, Wellingtons, Venturas, Stirlings and Halifaxes.
