Interview with Francesco Bozzi
Title
Interview with Francesco Bozzi
Description
Francesco Bozzi recalls his military training followed by service in Greece. He describes harsh living conditions while in Germany-occupied Crete after September 1943: hard labour; scarce food; punishment; brutalities; being wounded while digging a tunnel; bombings, and Allied attacks of Italian convoys packed with soldiers. He describes being hospitalised in Italy and mentions the disruption of transport, destroyed bridges, strafing, and aggressive behaviour of partisans. Francesco tells of a cache of arms discovered, by chance, after the war.
