Jalapahar,
Darjeeling.
September 11th 1927.
My darling Mummy and Daddy.
I hope you are all well. Thank you for the book and fountainpen. Mrs Cox lets me keep my book and hockey stick in her room and take it when I want. I will try to write a long letter. I like writing in ink. I had a big cake and small cakes tovcs sosige [sic] rolls and heaps of other things. Half of the cake was over. I a very nice [deleted] th [/deleted] time at the party. I am se [inserted] n [/inserted] ding a list of all the things I had for the party. There were 9 candles and a hen. I like the book very much. Thank you for your letter and postcard.

I don’t mi [inserted] n [/inserted] d if you call the dog Pluto. [deleted] than [/deleted] That ink you sent me in [deleted] a [/deleted] the last parcel writes purple. I am ending my letter now.
