Letter from Alan North to Joan Strong
Title
Letter from Alan North to Joan Strong
Description
Alan writes about his aeronautical adventures. They were sent to deliver equipment in the Ardennes but when they got there the airstrip was deserted. There was no starter for their Mosquito and their battery was flat. They started to charge the battery using a small charger motor. By this time they were overdue and struggled to contact their base but eventually they were able to explain their situation.
They were then taken out by Belgian airmen. Overnight the batteries had charged enough to start. When they returned to their base they got into trouble for not checking that they enough battery power.
