ST. PAUL'S SCHOOL,
JALAPAHAR,
DARJEELING,
26.6.32. 1932.

My darling Daddy,
Many happy returns of the day. God bless us all and keep us saflty [sic] till we come home again. Thank you for your letter. In the Latin exam two boys came 1. [underlined] ST [/underlined] with 81 and another boy 2 [underlined] nd [/underlined] with 56 and I 3. [underlined] rd [/underlined] with 50. We played the team again that beat us and this time they beat us 4-1 but the referee was one of their own regiment. Our 2. [underlined] nd [/underlined] XI played some Laura team near St. Josephs, they were much bigger than our boys, but we beat them 5-0. Our 2 [underlined] nd [/underlined] XI are playing St. Josephs 2 [underlined] nd [/underlined] XI this wednesday. The monsoons are beginning. M [underlined] r [/underlined] Coombes our Scout master has asked us to write home and ask our parents to send some ruppees [sic] to us and we will give it to him.

and if we can raise enough money the Scouts are going camping, [deleted] the [/deleted] each scout is expected to give Ri 2 [deleted] r [/deleted] each and any thing more will be welcome. We should be able to collect enough for a camp. So would you mind sending us Ri 5 for this. If not send only half and we will safe [sic] the rest from our pocket money. He is going to try and get some money from the scout head quarters for this.
The place we are going to is Sur Duc Hoo which is 1009 ft high.
