The Council of the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund have learnt with much regret that your son is reported missing, and I am asked to convey to you their very sincere sympathy.
I am directed to inform you that if your financial circumstances are such that you are in need of some temporary assistance, you should explain the position to our Representative who is kindly acting on our behalf and who will I am sure give you all the advice which you may require.
If you are not in need of help, then will you kindly just inform our Representative and do not trouble to answer this letter.
