Dear Sgt. Pickford,
I have received a letter from one of our members recently who has asked me to put you in touch with a Mrs. C.E. Keatley, of 22 Marford Crescent, Sale. Her husband was in camp P.G.78 but she has had no word from him since Italy's collapse. I wonder whether you would mind writing to this lady as she thinks that perhaps you might have some idea of her husband's whereabouts, that is, whether he was one of those who managed to get away from the camp, or whether he was amongst the unlucky ones who were sent to Germany.
You will naturally understand that any little bit of information will relieve her anxiety tremendously although I think she understands that if he is in hiding in the mountains nothing very much can be done until he is able to reach the Allied lines and send her a message.
I was so pleased to see you at the last meeting and it was very good indeed to spare your time to come along. I was pleased to see also that you were looking better than you did the first time we saw you. It was exceedingly kind of you to give us such a very handsome donation and thank you also for your kind gift of the gold chain which I very much appreciate.
Hoping that you will soon be fit again and wishing you all the very best in this New Year.
Yours sincerely,
Dorothy M.V. Clarke DB
