Dear Mrs. Pittwood
I am just writing this letter to convey the very real sympathy that all of us feel toward you and your family at this time of distress following the bad news that your son F/Sgt Jack Pittwood, is missing from operations.
He was a fine lad and the member of a grand crew, and we are praying and hoping that they have got down somewhere safely and that soon we may have better and more welcome news of their welfare.
Meanwhile that in this [indecipherable] ordeal of anxious waiting, and amid it all I pray that God may indeed bless and help you. In whatever the future may bring His Presence guide and care for you.
If there is any way in which I can be of help please do not hesitate to write and let me know.
Yours Sincerely
C. E. Heap
