Dear Jean,
Thanks a lot for letters 17 & 18, received a day or so ago, I noticed on 18 you nearly forgot to put the number but just made it on the envelope. Expect by this time your holiday is just a memory, hope the sunburn is past the peeling stage now and your after holiday effects wearing off. By the way should like to have seen a snap of you in slacks, are you built right for them? Last weekend we went down to the sea, was nice and refreshing after the boiling weather we are having, its been over 90° in the shade for the last few days and I feel like a wet rag. At the moment a violent thunderstorm is coming up, sounds like a dozen blitzs [sic] rolled into one, hope it will clear the air. Well, thats all for now, be good
Yours Jack
