My dearest Cathie,

It was so good getting your Christmas card with the letter.

I had a very good Christmas. My neice, [sic] Bidie and Patsy Reid, came to New York for the holidays. They saw a couple of plays and went to Radio City Music Hall and saw the Christmas show.

Yes, I like Carter and believe he’d do a good job if the people don’t expect too much from him. I know Nixon came to England. It got a lot of coverage in the press. He wasn’t exactly received with open arms.

This is going to be a good year, I feel. I believe the economy will be straightened out and prices will go down a bit.

I certainly did see ‘Brigadoon’ &

loved the music in it.

I liked the idea of you going out Caroling. [sic] It sounds right out of Dickens. You should be able to wake up the village with your caroling. [sic]

I may go to Germany this year and if I do I shall stop by and see you. What is the nearest big city where Airplanes stop?

We can plan that later – much later.

Well, I hope you have every happiness during the new year.

Love,

Heathcliffe
