Dear Mr and Mrs Dyde,
The Squadron Commander wishes me to express his regret that he was unable to see you whilst you were at Langar as he was in bed ill. He has asked me to convey to you both on behalf of the Squadron and himself our very deep sympathy in the loss of your son.
As Air Gunner of one of our best and most popular crews his loss is keenly felt by the whole Squadron and we can appreciate how you must feel at his loss. Please accept our heartfelt sympathy in this sad time.
