Dear madam,
I thank you for your letter dated 12th November 1943 and am glad to note that your husband is safe although a Prisoner of War.
In Prisoner of War cases the effects cannot be released without the written authority of the Prisoner of War himself, and I should be glad if you would forward any letter which you may later receive in this respect.
In the meantime, I am forwarding a parcel of clothing to you from his personal effects.
