My Dearest Mother, As am in the mood for letter writing am continuing letter of same date. Forgot to tell you am keeping very fit. Not taking much exercise apart from a walk round the compound Reading Stuart Cloete’s “The hill of Doves.” Very good as usual. My hair is growing quite fast – still look like an egg. Lt Ruffell is in this camp. The sun shone yesterday, strangely enough, & it was a bit warmer. Sunny days in Winter seem coldest. The snow has held off again, but this cant last. Cheerhio [sic] again. Much love Donald
