Dear Mum, Dad & Moira.
Just a line to let you know I have been posted at last. [deleted] We [/deleted] 34 of us are going to Destford [sic], nr Leicester for our Grounding school on Friday. It is very lucky because nearly all my pals except Matt are going.
I have just received the parcel. It was very welcome, as I don’t get paid till to–morrow. Quick work to get here so soon. The book is the correct one. I couldn’t think of the proper name. Also received Denis’ letter.
I didn’t know Roy Hussey was interested in a commission.
I have now lost my moustache as I had half of it shaved off in a rag last
[page break]
night. So did all the other chaps with moustaches.
Needless to say Matt doesn’t know the Samson’s of Tunbridge Wells. He doesn’t live here. I would be greatly obliged if you would refrain from digging up far removed relatives in the Leicester district, by the way. (Unless they really have got attractive daughters)
Well I will close now as I am going to see “Macbeth” & after that start packing & cleaning. I saw [deleted] “Macbeth” [/deleted] [inserted] Hamlet [/inserted] on Saturday while I was supposed to be on fire–picquet. I really was tremendous with George Hayes as “Hamlet” I didn’t think I could enjoy Hamlet so much,
Cheerioh
Love
Terry.
[underlined] P.S. [/underlined] I should get 7 days in 3 weeks time.
The planes we are flying are safest in the world.
