Parlour & sat in front of the big log fire in the old-fashioned chairs, with the low oil-lamps, & drank beer. Oliver Cromwell [underlined] definately [/underlined] conducted one of his campaigns from here. Its [sic] quite a famous place & has accommodation for about 20 people, but we were the only people there. I haven’t felt so content & peaceful for long-time. I intend going there again. The upkeep must be high, but its only 19/6 for bed, breakfast, lunch, tea & dinner, which really isn’t too bad. They have old four poster beds. George, & John’s N.Z. navigator had never seen anything like it.

Well I’m sorry this is
[page break]
so short folks, but there isn’t much to say.
Hope the Greens are O.K. Glad Gran C. is getting around a bit. Much love. Terry
P.S. Thanks for your note, dad. I have got round to writing that cheque to the Imperial, but I will some day.
