Postcard to Rona Hay from her father. He writes that he has just got back to Cannes from Marseilles. He also says that he tried to go along the road to Gourdon but could not as the bridge of Abime had been blown up.

DADDY HAS JUST GOT BACK FROM CANNES AFTER 18 HOURS IN THE TRAIN FROM MARSEILLE. LAST WEEK, TRIED TO GO ALONG THIS ROAD BUT COULD NOT BECAUSE THE BRIDGE WAS BLOWN UP. IT IS NOT NEARLY SO WARM IN PARIS AS IT WAS IN CANNES.
