My Darling Johnnie
Your kit-bag has arrived safely, the fiddle looks to me to be quite O.K. The bridge has come out, but I suppose that doesn’t matter. I have washed all the clothes from the kitbag today & they are certainly several shades lighter. If you’ll bring your chamois waistcoat home next time, I’ll wash that for you too.
This the the great day for Frances’s dancing display. I shall be heartily glad when it’s over these late expeditions spoil both afternoon & evening as working periods for me. I must hurry away now
[page break]
to improve the [two indecipherable words] by doing more shopping in Gerrards Cross before the show. I was sick last night & have got a rotten headache today, so I’m probably sickening for something. You’ll have to come home & nurse me & run the house. That would [one indecipherable word] you! Actually a few aspirins will doubtless settle it.
Hope you are enjoying life more at this new place & that something is being done for your [one indecipherable word].
Longing to see you again on Saturday
Yours always
Ursula.
