As you can see by my address things have certainly changed since I last wrote to you. I hope you are not worrying over me too much. At present I am stationed in a camp with not a worry or a care in the world. Through Almighty God’s Goodness I am in the very best of health and not injured or hurt in any way. I am with a few pals which keeps me from feeling lonely in any way. The food is good and I should be able to put on a stone or so, the Red Cross are marvellous, it’s impossible to speak too high of them, I think if you draw a couple of pounds out of my bank account and send it to them might be a good idea.
Whilst on the subject of requests would you give Auntie Louie permission to act as my next-a-kin in England and to take charge of my personal kit. At the moment I am just getting use [sic] to my new surroundings. Red Cross H.Q. will inform [inserted] you [/inserted] of how to write to me. Once again I am quite safe – well and happy. Love Jim
