Title

Statement of Antonio Pistorozzi about some allied servicemen

Description

Antonio Pistorozzi claims that after the armistice some allied prisoners of war from camps in Emilia stayed with him in Sambuca Pistoiese (Pistoia). He gave them food.
He also recollects that in the period between 25 May and 5 June 1944 an American aircraft was shot down near the village of Treppio (Pistoia): one of the aircrew died and the others baled out. The latter were helped to cross the lines.
Antonio recollects the help provided to Nicolai Rudienci from Dismoien, in the Caucasus, and Ivan Sivocon, born in Caraska, Ukraine. They later joined the Matteotti partisan brigade being involved in combats at Monte Cavallo, Castelluccio, Porretta Terme, Sambuca Pistoiese, Badi, and Castel di Casio. Another Russian, Micha, continued to the front.
