Dear Willie
We were all much touched to get your telegram on Christmas day, and were much conscience stricken [character deleted], as we sipped our claret, that we had not sent you one. But I hope you had a nice Christmas.
The high spot of ours was to withstand a charge of mounted Clarence-Smiths in mid Forest, whilst walking off our [word deleted] Xmas
[page break]
lunch. Its not the sort of shock I could stand many times in my life.
Unfortunately it was really too hard to ride while I was there, but that was the only blot on a pleasant holiday
Love & Kisses
Ian
P.S. We went to church at Minstead. Your powers of organisation must be very great to stage manage a wedding in so small a place
