Description

Approximately 170 members of 50 Squadron in five tiered rows in front of a Lancaster. Front row consists of officers with peaked caps and a dog. Second row mixed officers with peaked caps toward the centre and airmen with side caps towards the ends. Rear rows are airmen in side caps. Captions at the bottom pick out particular individuals including P/O J Lawrey (2nd row 10th from left) and his crew including his rear gunner James Flowers (second row, fourth from the right). Crew mentioned Sgt F Wallis - bomb aimer, Sgt H Kent - wireless operator, Sgt J Morrison- navigator, Sgt Smith - flight engineer and Sgt H J Flowers - mid upper gunner. Also notes squadron commander Wing Commander J Flint and two pilots, F/O Berriman shot down on 9 April 1945 and and Flt Lt [?]Ling shot down on 14 March 1945.
