DEAR MADAM,

I have to inform you that a gratuity of
[underlined] £100 (One Hundred Pounds and a pension of £130 (One Hundred and Thirty Pounds [/underlined]
a year has been awarded to you as the widow of [underlined] 146838 Pilot Officer Ian Archer Wynn RAF [/underlined], together with an allowance of [underlined] £72 (Seventy Two Pounds [/underlined] a year in respect of [underlined] Two [/underlined] [deleted] child [/deleted] children payable while under the age of 18 years and being maintained by you.

The award is subject to the conditions of the Royal Warrant or corresponding Instruments governing grants in respect of death by service in the

war, and takes effect from [underlined] 1.2.44 [/underlined] Adjustment will be necessary if widow’s pension or children’s allowance has been awarded to you under the Widows’, Orphans’ and Old Age Contributory Pensions Acts, as such payment is not admissible together with an award of widow’s pension or children’s allowance by this Ministry.

Application for payment should be made to His Majesty’s Paymaster General, Somerset House (West Wing), London, W. C. 2, on the enclosed [deleted] form 9/156 [/deleted] forms 9/156 and 9/157.
