Description

RAF Spilsby was a Bomber Command station located in Lincolnshire, 12 miles (19 kms) west from Skegness.

Construction began in 1942 and it opened in September 1943 as part of 5 Group. 207 Squadron arrived in October 1943 and were joined a year later by 44 Squadron, both flying Lancasters. Both units stayed until July 1945. The station was put into Care and Maintenance in 1946 and was closed in 1958.
