Dear John, I’m very sorry, I could not come yesterday to the wire. My sickness came quite unexpectedly I’m now obliged to remain in bed for some days. It is my heart that is not in order the doctor was twice yesterday when I will feel better, I will write to you a very, very long letter. It is so sad to lie in the hut waiting and seeing all the other girls [indecipherable word] and playing the ball. I’m longing this moment when I shall be able to leave the bed and see you. With a great impatience I wait [sic] your letter, it must be long. My friend, who will hand you my note, will go to [sic] for the letters. To-day she will [indecipherable word] some news from you at 3 o’clock. Your note was handed to me at 5 o’clock, for it was in the hands of somebody unknown.

My best wishes yours sincerely
