MORE DAKOTAS LEAVE FOR EAST BENGAL
More Dakota aircraft of India Command have been ordered to Calcutta to transport food grain to the Noakhali and Tipperah areas of East Bengal.
Air Marshal Sir Roderick Carr, who left Delhi by plane on Wednesday morning bound for the U.K. on relinquishing his appointment of Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, India, issued orders to this effect shortly before his departure.
These aircraft have been drawn from Nos. 10 and [underlined] 62 [/underlined] Transport Squadrons and are being made available for this sole task until October 31.
With the arrival of these aircraft, due at Calcutta on Thursday, the total number of Dakotas engaged in this operation will be eight.
