JUNKERS Ju 88A1.
GERMAN DIVE BOMBER.
Two 1,200 h.p. Junkers Jumo 211A liquid cooled motors. All metal construction with stressed metal covering. Six movable machine guns. Undercarriage retracts backwards, and wheels turn flat into motor nacelles. Retractable tail wheel. Bomb load four 550 lb. on external racks for dive bombing or sixteen 110 lb. each.
Dimensions. – Span, 59 ft.; length, 46 ft. 6 in.; height, 15 ft. 5 in.; wing area, 540 sq. ft.
Weight. – Loaded 25,000 lb.
Performance. – Max. speed, 317 m.p.h. at 15,600 ft.; range. 1,310 miles at 264 m.p.h.; service ceiling, 29,800 ft.
