Dear Mum & Dad,

I have graduated from B & G school and now only advanced navigation school remains and then [underlined] the boat [/underlined] so it won’t be long now! We leave this week for the above address, boy am I glad to be leaving MANITOBA! There’s miles and miles of SAN FAIREY ANN, ONTARIO they say is a wonderful place. I hope thats true. Glad to hear you had so grand a holiday thats very good. I wished that you could have spent it over here at etc CLEAR LAKE or somewhere. That would be the thing wouldn’t it maybe we’ll be able to one day. Must close now.

Dearest Mum & Dad,

We arrived here yesterday having spent a day in Toronto which is only about 130 miles away and is really a beautiful city. I was greeted on arriving by your two telegrams. If I could only tell you how much they meant to me – it made yesterday the happiest birthday I ever had. Honestly, it was perfect, thanks a million. This is a very nice station and the course at present doesn’t seem unduly difficult but I’ll be glad when its over and I’ll be on my way home to see you again. Cheerio for Now
