Description
Observer's and Air Gunner's Flying log book for W.R. Doran, Wireless Operator covering his RAF service from 18 March 1948 to 30 October 1953. This period covers his service in 97 Squadron, the Flying Wing (which included 9, 12, 101 & 617 Squadrons) and the Bomber Command Examining Flight. Aircraft flown are Lincoln, Anson, Halifax, Oxford and Canberra. The logbook opens with a handwritten list of Lancaster and Lincoln serial numbers with dates from 9 December 1943 to 31 May 1950. Units listed are 9 Squadron, 97 Squadron, 617 Squadron & 1661 HCU. RAF Bardney, RAF Winthorpe, RAF Coningsby, RAF Hemswell, RAF Binbrook and RAF Scampton are listed.
