Sir,

With reference to your enlistment into this service a Musician, literature relative to men is enclosed herewith with a request that you will please complete Form 429 and return same to this depot together with the documents enumerated on Form 936. On receipt of same a further communication will be forwarded you calling you up to this depot with a view to your enlistment on Monday, 21st instant.

Sir,

With reference to your application for enlistment into this Service, it is requested that you will forward to this office the following documents for perusal :-

(a) A reference from your present employer, or the name and address of the company, or private person by whom you are now employed.
If you do not wish to obtain a reference at present please inform this office.

(b) A reference as to character, of recent date, from a responsible person other than a relative or employer.

(c) If you are unemployed, a reference from (or the name and address of) your last employer. The reference referred to in (b) above should state the period you have been unemployed.

(d) If you are now serving, or have ever served in any of the armed forces of the Crown, you must send particulars of service and if discharged your Discharge Certificate.

(e) If you have served in the Mercantile Marine, your Board of Trade Certificate of Discharge.

(f) I married or under the age of 18 you should forward your Birth Certificate.

It must be clearly understood that no guarantee of your ultimate enlistment can at present be give, as this will depend upon (1) your medical fitness, (2) the requirements of this Service, and (3) the approval of the Officer I/C Records. Royal Air Force.
