My Dearest Mummie,
Thank you so much for your present which I have not broken into yet. I am going to keep it for leave which should be on the 22nd of November which is less than a week.
I am sorry I did not write more than I did but I must admit that I forgot all about it till[sic] a short while before I went flying so it just had to be a hurried note.
I also foget[sic] someone else’s birthday so I must just drop her a wee note.
Lois sent me the most lovely scarf and tie in RAF colours and a nose handkerchief, she is very kind to me.
Do you think that you could take my dressing gown [remainder of letter missing]
