NOTIFICATION OF FINAL PAYMENT OF PAY AND ALLOWANCES AND AMOUNT DUE FOR WAR GRATUITY AND POST WAR CREDIT

Postal drafts to the value of £28: 4s. 2.d. Are enclosed in final settlement of your pay account, including leave rate of ration allowance, up to and including 3.6.46 which is the last day of your release leave (and includes pay and ration allowance for overseas service).

Income Tax deductions in respect of your Civil Employment will be made as from your first payment of wages or salary, unless you are within the normal exemption limits.
If you propose to encash a postal draft for an amount £10 or more at a small Post Office, you are advised, in your own interest, to give the Post Office 24 hours notice before payment is required.
In addition you are entitled to a payment for War Gratuity and Post Ware Credit. The period of your Release Leave does not count for the purpose of calculating entitlement to War Gratuity, but Post War Credit is payable up to and including the last day of Release Leave. Payment will be made into a Post Office Savings Bank Account to be opened in your name, and the amount will be credited to the account on the 57th day after you leave the Dispersal Centre. A Post Office Savings Bank book will be dispatched to reach you as near to the 57th day as possible. The amount cannot be withdrawn from the Post Office before the 57th day. The book will be forwarded to the address shown above. It is therefore important that you notify any change of address prior to the receipt of this book, to the Director, Post Office Savings Bank, 25, Church Street, Manchester 4, quoting your service number, rank and name (in block letters) and the particulars of your Savings Bank Account as follows :-
