Dear Beryl,
I am glad to say that I have been flighted today, Sunday, to F flight. this means I shall fly from K.P. (Kirkpatrick) just north of the border & near Solway Firth.
I’ve fixed up my intercoms so that I can hear the instructor swearing quite plainly, & I should be in the rear cockpit of a Tiger Moth sometime tomorrow afternoon. So please ask Mom to look up
[page break]
P.S. From now on we fly daily as follows
Monday afternoon.
Tuesday morning
Wed. afternoon
Thurs morning & so on.
(Not on Sundays
& send the things I ask for – especially shoes, pullover & Argus, cassettes & film in tin.
Just off to church, & thought I’d let you know all about what I am to do. I’d love some spearmint to chew if possible. I shall starve myself from now on to avoid being sick on my first flight & chewing gum is good on an empty (not emptied) stomach.
Hope to hear from you, Mother & Ken soon.
Shall be on leave in less than 14 days if weather good.
Lots of love,
George
