[inserted] [underlined] An [indecipherable word] [/underlined] [/inserted]
[underlined] Ref the River Derwent [/underlined]
A moonbeam caught the fairness of your hair,
And in you eyes the light of love did shine,
What could I do but stand & stare,
Against the silhouette of shadowy pine.
A shooting star did sear its spangled way,
Across a sky so peaceful & so bright,
It faded, oh if only it could stay
Forever brilliant there before my sight.
A River calm its glassy surface still
The song of nightingale breaking on the air,
It magic notes a million memories fill
And soothe my haunted heart so full of care.
The pines still stand like sentinals and see
Me walk alone along the rivers edge,
The stars [inserted] of heaven [/inserted] look down [deleted] for [/deleted] and seem to be
As twinkling eyes that hold mine in a pledge.
Oh let me feel the cool breeze on my face
Let me again stand by your side & view
Pale moonshine filling this [indecipherable word] place
That Paradise on earth that’s all for you
