[underlined] (This Drill assumes that all Members of the crew are at their normal stations.) [/underlined]
CAPTAIN. — At controls, orders “Put on Parachute” — At controls, orders “Jump, Jump” — At con-trols. — At controls. — Engages auto pilot and destroys IFF. — Leaves Controls. Fits pack and leaves a/c by front hatch, facing forward, head first.
BOMB AIMER. — Acknowledges order. fits pack. — Jettisons front hatch. — Faces [underlined] FOR-WARD [/underlined] and leaves by front hatch head first.
F/ENGINEER. — Acknowledges order; fits pack. — Prepares to move down to front compartment. — Moves down to front compartment. — Faces forward and leaves a/c by front hatch head first.
NAVIGATOR. — Acknowledges order; fits pack. — Moves up behind Flight Engineer. — Prepares to move into front compartment. — Moves down to front compartment. — Faces forward and leaves a/c by front hatch head first.
W/OPERATOR. — Acknowledges order; fits pack. — Moves down to behind M/U. Gunner. — At fuse-lage door. — At fuselage door. — Leaves a/c by fuselage door. Method as for M/U Gunner.
M/U GUNNER. — Acknowledges order. Leaves Turret. Fits pack from stowage. — Moves down to fu-selage doors and opens it. — Sits on steps of fuselage door facing aft with knees drawn up and hands clasped round Knees and rolls out sideways.
REAR GUNNER. — Acknowledges order. Leaves Turret. Fits pack from stowage. — Moves forward to fuselage door. — At fuselage door. — Leaves a/c by fuselage door. Method as for M/U Gunner.
NOTES:- (1) If B/Aimer is in front turret he acknowledges order “Jump”, leaves turret and then carries out drill as above.
(2) If jump is predetermined (e.g. bad weather, short of petrol etc, crew must remain on inter-com until executive order “jump” is given by Pilot.
(3) Helmets must be taken off before jumping.
