Large hangar with buildings including tower to the left. The name A. V. Roe & Co Ltd above slightly open hangar doors. A biplane with man by port wing on the right side by door opening. On the reverse 'About 1914 - 1929, A V Roe & Co Ltd, Experimental Works, built by Sir Alliott Verdon Roe on the bank of the River Hamble near Southampton, The site later became the home of Air Service Training Ltd'. In the bottom left corner a hand drawn map showing river, village and airfield.
