Junkers JU 288.
In spite of the numerical similarity the JU 288 was not a development of either the JU 88 or JU 188. It was designed as a twin engined bomber & its later versions were larger, considerably heavier & more powerfully engined than the JU 88. It was first test flown in 1940, after which it was extensively modified. Development was slow but series production was contemplated late in 1944. The JU 288 was used operationally in very small numbers. Max speed 410 mph. Range 22235 miles. The JU 288 C series, the final version. [deleted] had a [/deleted]
