Dear friends:
We are all so happy over the news that Dick is safe even though it means being a prisoner. What a releif. [sic] And it increases our hopes that the other members of his crew may be safe.
I want to tahnk [sic] you for being so thoughtful as to telegram the good news.
When you write to Dick give our very warmest best wishes.
